Larkfleet Homes recognised for commitment to sustainable communities

    2 October 2018

Because Larkfleet Homes works to cement environmental sustainability into its projects it has won a major enterprise award.

Larkfleet Homes was one of just 10 finalists in the Best of British Business Awards 2018 organised by leading price comparison specialist Love Energy Savings.

Judges were impressed with Larkfleet’s commitment to investing in renewable technologies to benefit future generations and creating communities where residents found a sense of pride.

The housebuilder was also praised for its commitment to supporting charities and volunteer groups.

The awards recognise forward-thinking businesses or enterprises that have outshone rivals or made their local community proud.

Larkfleet Homes’ CEO Karl Hick said: “We believe it is important that when we build new homes for people we develop robust, living communities as well.

“We know we are creating places that residents can be proud of and that, in turn, makes us proud.

“Another source of pride is the support we give to the fantastic charities and volunteer groups in the areas we are working in.Supporting these groups across the country helps us to attain our vision of integrating new developments into the community.

“It is wonderful that these attributes have been recognised in this way.”

Two finalists from each of the five regions – the South of England, the North of England, the Midlands, Wales and Scotland – were handpicked by the judges.

Phil Foster, Love Energy Savings’ Managing Director, said: “House building is a key sector in this country and one that has to carefully balance the need for new homes with environmental concerns.By being proactive in its approach, Larkfleet Homes successfully combines these two areas to deliver not only high-quality housing but also better communities.

“Larkfleet Homes has displayed its ambition to grow by developing from being a regional house builder to one that is striking out across the country. Its overall business and enterprise attributes, including its commitment to worthy causes, make it a very deserving finalist.”

Most of Larkfleet Homes’ new developments are in Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland but it is also expanding into areas such as Scotland.

Together with sister company Allison Homes, it also provides a community fund that supports charitable projects.

Recent donations have been made to the Lincoln Friends, the Anthony Nolan Trust and Marie Curie. Junior football and rugby teams have also benefited.

Lancashire-based Love Energy Savings, which specialises in securing cheaper energy tariffs for business customers, founded its awards four years ago.
