Larkfleet Group employees are celebrating after company is shortlisted for prestigious business award.

The Rutland and Stamford Mercury Business Awards are held every year to celebrate excellence and showcase the achievements of organisations and employees across Lincolnshire. Larkfleet Group has been shortlisted this year for the Large Business of the Year Award.

Karl Hick, Chairman and Co-founder of the Larkfleet Group, said: “We are very pleased to have been shortlisted for Large Business Award. A key part of being a successful large business is how you weather the storms of changing economies. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has rocked the construction industry, but despite the difficulties, we have continued to flourish. The result has been sales that not only meet previous years but improved upon them, which provides us with an important platform to meet our targets over the next few years.

“It is a credit to our employees who have faced the challenges of the pandemic with unwavering enthusiasm and commitment and the support of our key stakeholders and customers. It is an exciting time of growth for the company and to be recognised in our home region of Lincolnshire would be fantastic. Good luck to all the applicants.”

The Group was nominated for the award after experiencing significant growth over the last 12 months. Recently, Larkfleet Group appointed new CEO, John Anderson, and set itself the target of tripling the size of the business over the next five years – to become a premier, customer-focused nationwide homebuilder. There has already been success with reservations for houses up 103% and 95% in July and August, respectively.

The Larkfleet Group was also nominated due to its proactive role in supporting and improving its local communities. Through both its partnerships with local educational facilities, including Greater Peterborough University Technical College (GPUTC), and through its affordable homes offer. The Group has become one of the first developers in the UK to receive permission to create ‘entry-level sites’ that will be 100% affordable.

The winners of the Rutland and Stamford Mercury Business Awards will be announced and celebrated at a special ceremony evening in January 2021.
