Half way there
28 March 2022
The Larkfleet Group expedition to Mount Everest base camp is almost halfway through the trek.
Group chairman said, from the Everest View Hotel at 4,000m, ‘The group is great and everyone is helping each other on the climbs and we’re lucky that we are all able to walk and climb well at this stage. We are all doing really well so all goes well for the stiffer tests ahead. Seeing Everest today for the first time live was awesome, and relives all the books I have read from Mallory, Irvine and Hillary plus many other great climbers who have tried and failed and then the first summit by Hillary, you get a real sense who are heros out here. Our group are all really positive and embracing the culture and atmosphere of the climb and you can certainly notice the reduced oxygen levels as you go higher.
The group are now going through the 14,000ft barrier where conditions are set to get harder.
